Dry Needling
What Is Dry Needling?
Dry needling is a treatment technique in which a qualified healthcare professional inserts thin, sterile needles into selected muscles, connective tissues, or other targeted areas to help address pain, muscle tension, movement restrictions, or related symptoms. Dry needling is different from acupuncture, although both techniques use similar types of needles.
Benefits may include temporary or lasting reduction in pain, decreased muscle tension, improved range of motion, reduced muscle sensitivity, and improved function. Results vary, and no specific outcome can be guaranteed. Dry needling may be used alone or as part of a broader treatment plan.
Contraindications include pregnancy, cancer, non-intact skin, blood thinners and history of heart valve replacement.
